Here at Marske Methodist Church we seek to follow Christ’s teaching.
Our Mission: To love the Lord our God and our neighbours as ourselves.
Our Vision: to be a church in which;
God's name is honoured,
Disciples of Jesus are encouraged and nurtured,
And the life of the Spirit is evident in creativity and mission.
Marske has a very rich Methodist and Christian heritage, 2010 marking 300 years of continuous Methodist witness. We have been worshipping God in our current building on Hummershill Lane since 1966 and prior to that at the former Brunswick Methodist Church on the High Street. Until the 1860s, Marske was the centre of worship for Marske, Saltburn and Redcar.
In our church we praise God, and we love and nurture our members so that they may witness for Christ. We share with other churches in the wider community to help, serve and bring others to the knowledge of the love of God.
When people visit our church they will be sure of a warm welcome from the moment they set foot in the door. Our Sunday morning services are combined with Junior Church so that children take part at the beginning of the service and then leave for their own studies. Children are encouraged to join their families for Communion. We have a monthly magazine which keeps people in touch with events and also adds spiritual enrichment.
“It is small, it is warm, it is welcoming.
It is comfortable, a beautiful place of worship.
It is a family, it is open to all.
It tries to reach out to help those less fortunate.
It follows Christ’s teaching of ‘Love one another’.
Why not come and join us.”
